Prof. Vladimir Brusic from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute visited Shanghai Center for Bioinformation Technology on March 13rd, 2013. Professor Lu Xie, Prof. Yuanyuan Li, Prof. Zhiwei Cao, Dr. Chaochun Wei and other researchers participated in the academic report.
Prof. Brusic is the Director of the Cancer Vaccine Center Bioinformatics Core at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Principal Associate in Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He is also a Professor of Computer Science at the Metropolitan College, Boston University. His research interests span the fields of biological databases, data mining, computational models of biological systems, simulation of molecular interactions, and biological discovery using simulation of laboratory experiments. The main focus of his work is computational modeling of complex biological systems including immune system, genome, and proteome.
Prof. Brusic made a lecture under the title of High-throughput Immunomics: Data Mining of Vaccine Targets from Viral Pathogens and introduced his research results including Molecular databases, Knowledge-based systems(KBS) and Analytical framework. After the meeting, Prof. Brusic had a heated discussion with other researchers in Center.
