Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics visited Center (2012/1/8)

    Experts and scientists from Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics visited Shanghai Center for Bioinformation Technology on January 8th, 2013. Prof. Yixue Li, Prof. Lei Liu, Dr. Lu Xie and the principal investigator of research groups in Center received them.

      Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics is an academic, non-profit foundation recognized of public utility and established in 1998. SIB coordinates research and education in bioinformatics throughout Switzerland and provides high quality bioinformatics services to the national and international research community. The SIB includes world-class research and service groups in the fields of proteomics, transcriptomics, genomics, systems biology, structural bioinformatics, evolutionary bioinformatics, modelling, imaging, biophysics, and population genetics. The visitors were the Executive Director of SIB, Prof. Ron Appel and other group leaders including Prof. Torsten Schwede, Dr. Michael Stadler, Prof. Sven Bergmann, Prof. Simon Bernèche, Dr. Mauro Delorenzi, Prof. Evgeny Zdobnov, Prof. Amos Bairoch, Prof. Ioannis Xenarios, Prof. Manolis Dermitzakis.
 
      Prof. Lei Liu and Prof. Ron Appel gave a basic introduction of two institutes and exchanged opinions and views on the various topics both sides are interested in and reached a broad agreement about strengthening the communication and cooperation in the future.
